Battery went flat after fixing the door handle yesterday, so charged the battery over night.

Went out this morning, all started and drove fine, door handle all sorted, but noticed the the onboard computer wasnt showing any readings, i.e for the temperature there was no reading its just blank, and the mini screen under the dials where it normally shows the time or any messages isnt showing anything

Any ideas?

I vaguely remember mine doing something similar after being fully discharged but gradually, things returned to normal as drive the next few miles. Have you driven far since? What year/ model have you got?

Not driven it since, going out later

Its a 54 plate x5 3.0d

Hoping it sorts itself, but if not I have about removing and re-installing fuses 1, 43, and 45  or  removing battery for 30mins for a full reset.

Update

Just got back from driving the X5, still no reading on the computer or clock/messages under the dials,

Also noticed the Diesel gauge, and Rev counter aint working, but the temperature gauge and Speedometer are.

Anyone else have any advice?

John

Try the battery disconnect 'reset' that most BMW techies rely on and see if that clears it.
