I've got a 61 plate 335i and I did say I'd do a write up but haven't had time or driven many miles since I picked it up late last year, however in brief....
Mine is an M Sport and to be honest not sure what is standard and what is an option!
Seats are standard sports/electric with memory and very comfortable. Rear seating is tight but ok for small adults or children albeit I wouldn't like to do a long journey in the back. Don't forget it's a two plus two.
The sat nav is the same as my wife's 12 plate X5 with HDD etc and it's very good as we know. I don't have a sound upgrade and find the standard set-up adequate. Equally I don't buy a car to listen to music so it's not a biggy for me.
The rest of the interior is 3 series through and through which I quite like and don't find small, if anything it's quite nice having the car feeling as if it's wrapped around you!
I can't comment on the diesel although if it's essentially the same lump as the 30D then it's going to be great to drive and probably not sound too shabby either. The 335i petrol is a lovely engine. Quick enough and with the DCT gearbox good fun to drive in manual.
The hood is a work of art. How someone sat at a desk and designed it i beyond me. So many moving parts that work in complete harmony. Roof up and the car is solid and a true coupe, hood down and you can feel some scuttle shake but nothing that spoils the ride and I suppose to be expected. I wouldn't want to run one of these without a warranty of some kind. If the hood goes sick I can see it costing a few quid to repair. You can see it's a work of art and that surely can't be cheap to fix.
The hood can be lowered using the key whilst stationery but the key needs to be in the car ignition to raise the hood, again whilst to car is parked. There is a unit available to make it go up and down at up to 30mph but I've not bothered currently.
I've had a small leak on the passenger side where the hood meets the A pillar which has been fixed under warranty. As we're aware we've had some serious rain over the last couple of months and it's dry as a bone. I understand my leak wasn't uncommon hence the ability to fix it. I've also got a small rattle from the front left at the front of the car at speed but the dealer is going to look at that and again I understand it's a quick fix and something to do with the plastic wing fixing and a common fault.
Boot space with the hood up is fine, down is restricted sufficient for a small bag, but again to be expected. There is also a small amount of room behind the rear seats for whatever.
Mine has led rear and front lights, white angels and I think would be similar to an 09 model. The Zenons are good and if not standard a worthwhile option.
I've also got bigger wheels which I think make the car look more aggressive and although its got run flats it rides very well......providing you don't hit a pot hole!
The ride itself is great. It seems to hold the road and even at 70 leptons plus seems to be stable and go where I want it to go rather than where it wants to go.
All in all I'm very happy with mine. I went from a 997 C2S to this car and currently don't miss the Porsche. The package is different to the 997 but as ever BMW seem to have got it right.
If you find the right one I'd go for it, I really like mine
I'll post some images shortly.
