webasto heater without option?

Hello again, I was reading the other post about the webasto heater and I decided to check mine out. However I have no option in the obc for heater, only ventilation  >:( does this mean I don't have it?

I have the webasto thing under the bonnet which says it runs on diesel.

Any ideas?  2005 facelift 3.0d

It has to be enabled with a bit of coding, and some wiring changes....look for the thread about Parking Heaters, and get comfy coz it's a loooonngg thread.

I switched mine on with bmw diagnostic from eBay. Works a treat with no over mods. Even works with next to no fuel in tank whilst many say there has to be fair bit of diesel in tank.

Cheers Richard, I managed to get up to page 4 of 13 of Jayana's post, and read quite a lot of the remote enabling post too.  So far I'm gathering it should fire up if I put a live feed to it (if it's not bust!), it will need the car enabling to use it via the OBC, and the new place for setting up the RF switch is in existing wiring in the boot.....
It all sounds promising, and in this weather I need it, -3 this morning here, thank whoever for heated seats and steering wheel :D

Surely everyone has a heated steering wheel Denis?  :P

Back to the webo, i just looked at my webo too as read posts saying they were labeled top C and Z, mine only has the one label which says Top C, the unit and labels look pretty damn new too.  I'll read some more and prob' continue this in the relevant posts.

Why is the Webo only a diesel option?

Apparently it's not, they were an option on the petrol versions but very rare. Condor has one on her 4.8is from reading posts. Finding one that runs on petrol would be the difficult part as the majority out there run on heavy oil.......

thats unusual jv, unless somebody has changed it...

anyways, just try the power to pin 1 method and see if it fires it up and does the job. if so you're all clear. if not you might as well go back to reading all the posts..  :P

the joy of webos is best in the -3c days, i just get in and drive off whilst others de-ice  :))

Cheers Jay, I'm looking forward to getting back up North to try to power the thing, it's no fun scraping the windscreen or sitting for 10 mins twice a day lately  >:(
