My 184bhp Tonka goes well, very well. My question is how can i tell if its been remapped as feels tooo quick for 184bhp ?

I read the thread & have just come back from Jason @ B W Chiptune. Top geezer!!!
Car feels like a different animal (X5 3.0 D) he checked the settings first & found that it had previously been remapped badly causing a top mpg of 24. He checked the engine firstly for fault codes, found a hose not connected sorted cleared other error codes and then remapped. (even helped me fit some accessories and programmed auto locking door & alarm features f.o.c)

Very professional, top service bar none...

Would i use again yes! would i recomend defo. Almost went for a tuning box (would never have known about the original bad remapping).

You need to confirm with Jason (he is on this forum) but he did it for £250.
It will pay for it self in increased MPG alone (never mind the smile i now have because of the increased power & response when i press the throttle).
A previous customer from LUXONBERG is bringing his new car to him for a re-map (kinda swung it for me).

thanks A2obd all the tuner did on your car was to turn up the pump duration/pressure

@pvw10 your 184bhp on the rev counter when dose it start to pull and where dose the power tall off?

you can allways ring me for more info and it may be quicker

Hi Jason, not sure, seems to go off ok then pulls well.
Had an e46M3 before this and was expecting a slug but was impressed. I want to get the higher torque you offer but dont want to waste my time if already done, so not easy as were miles apart.
Thanks
Paul

the flat spot under 2000rpm is a give away when these are remapped

but the best way to tell if its has had any adjustments is if you can pop in to us and i will have alook at the sofware
to see if its been mapped

like a2obd was mapped and he didn't know it,the pump timing was turned up only and if he put a box on it would of put more pressure on the pump

Dont you mean a flat spot before remapped ?

I am to far away to pop down but would make the trip to get done but as i said dont want to find when i get there it already has been, so catch 22 unless i go local.

I'm said custy from Luxembourg , this is the 2nd car Jason's done for me .
He's a wizzard for sure . Both my cars were so much better after re-map . See thread below .

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=651

But just to recap quickly ; £250 for E53 re-map .
Better power & torgue figs , torque curve is wider and flatter meaning much more pull all the
way thru rev range , expect better fuel economy , I've gained @ 3mpg so far .
Throttle response is much better , means you don't have to be quite as lead-footed .

Basically it's a win - win situation , and if you don't like it (which I would say is never !!) it can
always be put back to standard (why !!??)

Enjoy , Chris
