Halo out

Post by X5 ALN » Sat Jan 12, 2013 10:30 pm

What's the deal?

Halo is unlit - indicator has come in as side marker - assuming that's a safety thing.

I've never sold a halo bulb at work (motor factors) are they a main dealer item - or is the halo not the problem?

I'm seeing the parts diagram on realoem - is it just a 501 capless bulb, reflecting light round the halo itself?

Halo sounds like its down and you have the indicator there for compensation.

Perfect time to get the LED alternatives?

Which ones do you recommend - just looking now - seeing they are easier to get for the 2000-2003 model?

What year is the car? If facelift - try this.

It's a facelift 2005 (55) model.

That bulbs say they do all the way through from 2000-2007. How come some only say up to 2003 - implying a change at the facelift.

I just replaced mine with LED - used these ones from the same supplier after reading some good reviews - http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/mtec-ver-3 ... s-1-5-6-7/

What's the difference? £30 vs £75

About £45...

Sorry ;)

The Mtec got good reviews so I was purely looking for them. The ones linked will be fine. There are 10W versions there that the review says are better than the ones I fitted. Will paste a link her in a min but using phone so not easy to link quickly.

Ok link - £54 for 10w Cree - http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/10w-cree-s ... s-1-5-6-7/

Might be worth speaking to the supplier. I only have experience of the ones I have used so am unable to give you a comparison.

I have a spare OEM one if you need it, never going to use it myself.

Would you believe it - went to take the bulb out - when I grabbed the holder to turn it - it came back on! Lighting connections are pish - I get the same problem with one of the rear bulbs
