Just coming back from a French trip, I've noticed that ACC works better on French (or continental) roads .. here's why.
On the continent, when approaching a vehicle, ACC will reduce speed once close, if you then left indicate (to start overtaking) it will immediately accelerates back up to cruise speed essentially ignoring the car in-front. In the UK, overtaking on the right, indicating doesn't do the same .. you have to pull out, wait for ACC to see the road's clear, then it will accelerate.

Seems to me the system is not properly setup for RHD, overtaking on the right ...

Which side of the car is the radar/sensor on?

If it's the left, then maybe it 'sees' a clear road earlier than if it's on the right and allows acceleration earlier perhaps?  Where is the same sensor on LHD cars?  It's a theory only though.

Doesn't sound quite right somehow that a left indicator action would cause the car to ignore what is ahead and just speed up.... ???

Radar sensor on mine is on the right side,i.e. driver's side. Logically that would seem the correct side for a RHD car. No idea if it's different on LHD

It is on the right hand side on my audi and don't have any such problems

Are you sure it's the indicator and not related to the steering position? My experience is its not looking directly in front but the direction of the front wheels?  I tend to use it a lot in 30 mph zones and find it does a pretty good job of following cars round quite tight corners - I think at junctions it actually holds the speed and doesn't accelerate.

It's not a cheap option but I'm really glad I went for it.

I'm sure it's related to indicating. You can try it yourself on a 3 lane road. Approach someone who's in the middle lane and let ACC slow you down, then indicate left (to undertake in the UK) .. you'll then find the car will accelerate whilst it's still in the shadows of the vehicle in-front!

It does make sense, because indicating means you're about to overtake .. so the car automatically speeds up.

or turn left or right, or pull-over...in which case it doesn't

if you want to turn left/right or pull over you've got to disable it.

Just returned from Switzerland - was driving through Belgium and France yesterday in really shi**y weather.  Didn't notice the difference but then again I had the gap to car in front set to the max given the woeful driving by many over there - time and again just pulled out when want to overtake without even checking if safe to do so...
