SAT NAV Aux Input

I bought an Aux input lead from ebay and set about searching the web on how to connect it.
I took out the Monitor and the glovebox as directed, but could not find the Aux connector anywhere.
I was of the understanding that if you had a wide screen Sat Nav there was an Aux input tucked away for future use as standard?

Am I barking up the wrong tree, do I have to connect another way?

This was going to be a temp fix so I could use music from my iphone until I decide on the final kit to use.

Have a look in the boot they normally connect to the TV tuner if it has a blue plug you unplug the lead to the tuner plug in the new lead then plug the existing lead back in the other end of the new lead if that makes any sense

yes, its on the loom, about a good 6 inches down from the socket that connects to the back of the head unit.

i have one of those (oem). tbh, i'd return that and go for the intravee upgrade.

incidentally, you dont have to route the aux in cable to the glove box as per instructions, i wired mine to the sliding covered coin tray next to the handbrake. the cable should be long enough and much easier to operate ipod and store it from there too.

ps, im very happy with the sound quality with this lower cost solution.  :xmastongue:

Thanks for the info guys.
I don't have a tv tuner so I'm not sure if it will have the loom in the boot and there is definitely no extra connector behind the sat nav.

I've been looking at the intravee2 route as it offers full iPod / iPhone integration and offers other items such as folding mirrors on entry / exit, I've also noticed that there is an aux input module available, is it possible to run video through this? Or is there another way of getting a video signal to show without using a tv tuner?

Only cars made from September 2002 have the Aux connector behind the monitor.  If your car is a little older (a few months only) then the radio may be capable of Aux, but it won't have the connector behind the monitor you'll have to connect it to the radio itself in the boot.

Ok that makes sense, so can anyone describe how to connect an aux input to the radio module?.
