I got one new from ebay but the fan doesn't always come on when I want it to! Not handy when the windscreen is misting up and I cant clear it. It has stopped the battery going flat though.

Where can I buy one that will actually work?

Buy a proper genuine one from the dealers, plus come with a warranty.

As above tbh, it's better to just get an original one from the dealers as it will be covered by their 2 year warranty for peace of mind.

From other folks research on other boards I think Meyle make the OE one.

Motormec sell them for under £50 or you could get same as one I just changed for £38.75 via ebay from bmparts.co.uk delivered as per ebay item 221116669982. On ebay they list them as meyle on their site they dont but price is £29.50 I didnt see the site link until after I sourced from ebay. 12 mth warranty but call before buying online toconfirm it's Meyle my ebay one was in Meyle box as per ebay item  http://www.bmparts.co.uk/product-heater ... r-fsu.html

IMO fsr's, (despite various versions), are all  a bit poor and I wouldnt expect any replacement to last a long time.

I can change one of these in circa 20 mins now  fwiw.

Demister seem to come on sometimes when I brake so I'm going to double check the plugs fully in etc today!

The hardest part for me was getting that ruddy clip that holds the thing in off! If I could of swung a hammer at it i would of haha
