It's gonna be a bigger Looking version of the current X5 by the looks of it.

A four pot diesel could be good for high 30s on the mpg scale.  A four pot diesel hybrid would be good for high 40s in real world driving.  Could be a case of getting your cake and eating it.

Hmmm not sure how I feel about having an X1 derived bonnet shoehorned onto an X5 body.

But the M version sounds meaty enough.

I guess my thinking of getting an E70 will be on hold a little bit.

Started to look to elongated & estate like (more 3rd row leg room) for me.  Starting to resemble Q7 ratio height to length.  Plus internal shots seen previously have media screen the juts up and not fitted into dash like E70/71.

Dont get me wrong, it will be lighter so more MPG even with existing engines, once engines/turbo/hybrid updated 40mpg+easily so will be a winner.

If they can get built quality closer to 7 series then even better.  8)

Totally agree.  I had a F10 520d for a couple of years and the build quality was superb.  So BMW are certainly going the extra mile on the latest models.

Looks like an overgrown X3.  Lack of flared arches .... I'll be going RRS or Cayenne if it looks anything remotely like those spy shots

I would say the lack or rear flared arches is to allow more interior width.  Maybe to allow easier access to the third row of seats.

i thought it looked bad too, but then its camouflaged, and bmw styling has rarely gone bad.. so i thought i'd give them benefit of doubt.. lets see when the egg is hatched..
