Irony was certainly present today. Just back from shopping in Tunbridge Wells and a Land Rover defender 110 was stranded in the middle of the road junction.

Cue the X6, my towing strop and a couple of D rings and a few moments later the offender was neatly parked in a side road.

The X6 didnt struggle at all even though the defender was stuck in gear. Very impressed.

The guy did make a smart alec comment about it being useless as a dog car with it's pretty interior, but I simple responded that his was mor euse as a kennel than a car at the moment so we should do fine between us.

Shame i didnt get it on camera, one for the haters to see :)

Well done that man  :bravo:

Now you mention winter in the title.  Was the defender stuck due to snow or a mechanical issue?  Either way, the defender owner will grudgingly have to concede that the X6 performed far better than he would have given credit for before today.  Do you think he'll be telling his buddies about the day he was rescued by a BMW X6?  I don't think so.

I was driving a 72 MGBGT a few years back that decided to breakdown right in the middle of a busy junction in Friday rush hour on the Tottenham Court Road.  My rescuer......110 defender.  I was very happy I can tell you.  Although he did mention that had it been one of those Shiite Japanese things, then he would have left me!  :'(
