My new car has ............

Post by 535dboy » Sun Dec 09, 2012 5:47 pm

...............not arrived so I have been lent this to tide me over.

Much better than the example I had for 6 weeks back in 2008.

Ride comfort far better than X5 was and handling massively improved.

Did notice the lack of 100 ponies compare to my old X5 though

I'm not a real fan if the Q7 but for some reason that actually doesn't look too bad at all.

Looks lower than most I've seen. Maybe just the pics. So when have they said is the arrival of the new motor?

Looks very long for some reason.

Not the greatest fan either, but would imagine it would be a good place to be in. Guess I will see it wednesday evening?

That's nice guys. I like it - just the pace and handling, I suppose.

Still nice.

So Ford stop making a Transit and Audi offer an alternative?  Or is it the Merc Vito alternative?  Not to my taste at all.....but then I have an X6. 8)

At least they've offered you something whilst they sort the production 'issues' out... :)

It is a nice looking motor but really doesn't do it for me.  That said I wouldn't say no to the loan of one.  Good of you to put up some decent piccies of it.  And a special Christmas. One on the 25th and then another early Jan.....subject to the boat!  :P

You say hundred less horses, so slower. And I heard they role a bit round corners. Unless newer model has taken care of that?

Argh yes. Lot slower

Handling much improved over old model, corners much flatter

Is it true the rear most seats will seat fully grown adults? Not AW8's or freaky Dutch mods though.

I heard reliability an issue in the old models too. I still like it - colour is right. If you can be arsed, can you take a pic of the interior.

Rear seats are better than X5 ones as a 7 seater

The interior quality better than old too, will try for pics

I hadn't even realised they had 8 speed autos either, again much better than old and helps economy too

I know it's a 62 plate but would you say it's better than your (was it) 08 E70?

Not fair but just wanna get a gauge - I like both (a lot)...

When I had a Q7 in 2008 (because her old TT was delayed!) I had just got my X5 and I much preferred the X5 for everything but the ride.

Now though this LCI Q7 has improved a lot

I like the 8 speed, much better than old 6 speeder

The handling in dynamic mode is very good and not far off the X5 if not quite equal

The interior of the new Q7 is again a lot better than that of the old one. Compared to the X5 maybe similar.

Just to qualify though I did drive the LCI 50d x5 around brands a month or so back and that did feel improved over mine but of course as a race circuit it was very smooth so didn't show the bumps of a normal road!!
