Anyone managed to get a deal on mudflaps. Not very happy that they aer "retail only" and no discount trade on accessories.
Not sure if my local dealer is just being arrogant or if that really is the case.

Give Cotswold BMW Hereford 01432 375564 a call and tell the parts guys you are on BMWLand forum. They should give you a discounted price.

Better in your pocket then the dealers! Out of interest, what is the price for a set of flaps!

I have them all round on mine if piccies are needed then have a look here in the Gallery. Side and Rear exposures shown. X5 example too.
Both cars have OEM and ordered with the car.

Re: Mudflaps
The OEM ones come with all the clips you need. I would recommend some silicone down the inner ridges where they meet the bodywork (silly bits of 2 sided tape on them in the box, but these wear out, fast). I am waiting for my new side skirts to be fitted before popping my new flaps on. I also have vague memories of bolstering he plastic rivets [supplied] with self tappers in places - belts n braces and all that.
Re: Mudflaps
Plastic rivet nightmare.
Instead of the push type where you line up and expand by pushing a pin, the new ones seem to be a pull type.
Suffice to say if you dont pull dead staight the plastic pin snaps off.
I assume BMW have a tool that pulls the pins, but I dont so will looks a different solution. I like the idea of screwing the expanding rivets in, but this isnt the 30 minute job the instructions say!

Would you be able to take a photo of the offending rivets?

Re: Mudflaps
Rivet

I drilled out a proper rivet gun centre and have used this to install.
Local BMW chap gave me a couple of rivets for free as I damaged two. I think this may be due to him a. being a nice chap today and b. making the same mistake I made in advising how to use.
I'll finish tomorrow as an easy job now I know what to do, but rear wheels need removing to install which is a pain.
