50th Birthday Present

So I was given this Supercar experience plus a passenger ride with a Rally driver.

Went to Longcross (I think) and got to drive the DB9 convertible (not much fun) and the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder (OMG what a car). 6 miles in each car was all you got (3 laps). But I had a lovely time.

Some pics of the VERY short time I spent there.

Wow, what a great present!

Did you drive like a racing driver or just push everybody out of the way like an X5 driver ;)

The DB9 was cumbersome to some extent but I had driven the Lambo first. It would steer wide etc and slow to pick up the pace.

The Lambo on the other hand was off the scale! 4WD and egear made for no delays in performance or grip. Glorious sound too! Got out and went ballistic in it, late high revving gear changes and very late on the brake (got told off as I was braking too late for instructor - I said the signs were too early and he had to agree, owners at the circuit prefer earlier braking).

Not allowed to overtake unless with consent (wait for the other car to indicate, etc). Nearly hit an Ariel Atom as it pulled out of the pits but didn't move off - at the end of straight. Instructor sh!t himself, hazards, flashing and then the shout - go through the cones if you have to, just try not to hit it. At which point the flashback comment about the wing mirror a previous enthusiast had knocked clean off after hitting a cone which he would potentially be liable for @ wait for it £2,500!!! Currently held on with duct tape!

I thought my head was away! :'( when I saw the 50th birthday I started to doubt myself seeing the big 40 earlier!  Pvr's only jealous that he left that decade behind when prince William was at prep school.  >:D
