dip stick!

does anyone find it really hard to get the same reading dip after dip on the V8?

usual is... one side near max other side of stick near min.. it drives me crazy!(well not crazy just ) and yes i have follwed the handbook!

asked me mates to check it and all they say is "thats a funny dip stick"

any users get the same?

Yes!! I've had the same problems with my E53 and the wife's E46. I'm a little bothered that my new E71 (not yet delivered) does not even appear to have one so you are completely reliant on a sensor. And I'm not that convinced about the sensors!! There doesn't even appear to be a temperature guage either.

Bring back the good old days when we had alternator, oil pressure, temp and fuel all showing (and boost pressure for the chavs), as well as simpler dipsticks. If one of those guages looked wrong you could go have a look rather than wait for a dreaded red light to come on by which time it could be too late.

Yes definately got the same problems and still really never know whether there's enough in there or not!! Still I suppose the light will soon tell me if there isn't !!!
