A Quick hello

Hi,
I am a newbie to this forum , i was previously lurking on the X5Drivers site looking for info and pointers before taking the plunge and buying and X5...
Today i eventually put a deposit on a 2002 4.4i, silver with grey leather and comms pack..... i have looked at quite a few over the last couple of months and found 2 today that were suitable, typical....
So, i pick it up in 2 weeks and look forward to contributing on the forum over the coming years... I have a number of projects planned such as Engine upgrades, lighting upgrades, Xbox 360 install, ICE upgrade, Stainless steel exhaust (has anyone used midlands exhausts that advertise on ebay?), and a few other bits and bobs...
I just need to sort out some insurance, any suggestions for a good deal without the need for a tracker??
Regards
Karl.....

regarding ICE upgrades, i'm looking at Components, amp and custom enclosure for the sub..... and a new headunit.
I am keeping a close eye on the windows CE based Navigation headunits tailored for BMWs. My car has Navigation, TV, etc but is is a bit dated now...

Hello Jango, hows young Boba?
I got my insurance from Zurich, no tracker needed and massively cheaper than anyone else too, worth a look.

I'm fairly new here but welcome. Sounds like some nice upgrades you have planned. Stage 1 of mine is complete and Stage 2 hopefully by the end of the week...

Hi Karl and welcome aboard
I have used LV for the last 4 years and are always very good and helpful. Good luck with the mods, plenty of help available on here so just fire away when ready.

Hi Rick,
I live on the original part of the Greaterleys estate, the furthest point from the Kassam.
My son goes to Wheatley Park School, so i know the area very well.. We have been considering moving out Wheatley way for a while and are now targeting the middle of next next year.. That was another of the reasons for getting an X5 - I need to do some work around the house prior to selling and needed a practical car for lugging stuff around.

Welcome,
Just be mindful of correct insurance company if later fitting declared mods, (guessing folk not declaring mods dont discuss any omission to notify
).
Not fitted custom system to my X5 but I have had good experience in past with a cat back fitted by basingstoke agent for longlife exhausts - significant noticeable improvement over an original jap system in all areas & choice of tailpipes varying from similar to OE look up to larger exit. Tailored to order & but not daft cost wise - in fact cheaper than dealer replacement

Upgrade exhuasts a rarity on here though I know E39 M5 crowd used to fit Hayward & Scott. I believe they do custom sytems too
