If the garage let air get into the ABS pump then you will need a BMW specialist to bleed the system through properly using their fancy machine.

If they did that then they should sort it FOC
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....

The abs valve needs to be cycled and opened using the correct software as this has closed off the feed to the rear lines. No matter what you do the rears won't bleed until the correct procedure is followed to open the valve again.

I have just spoken to someone at bmw and they say you dont need BMW specialist to bleed the system through properly using their fancy machine to bleed the rear brakes or plug it in, just bleed them they say, please some help it costing loads.

That's interesting as when the calipers were re-done middle of last year with the rest if my build thread we went through a fair bit of fluid to try and bleed them and nothing. In the end Jason had to sort.

Ask Jason @ BW off here but pretty sure you'll not be able to just bleed them.

Cheers Raj , the garage tell me they are have someone coming round to garage at luchtime with bosh kts kit to open valve to rear brakes and will need alot of dot 4 to bleed, so i dont know why bmw said u can just bleed them, i hope it is sorted today and they dont charge me loads as it been in garage for 3 days now, but at they end of day they should only charge me for new brake pipes as it was there fault they got air into it.

Agreed. You've paid them to change the lines. If they have introduced air into the system and have to get an outside source to sort it well that's their own problem. They agreed to take the job on and should have known potential issues that could arise.

Don't let them charge you for the extra costs.

Removed poll from this post.

To the OP - good luck and as other have said, pay only for the work asked for and not for problems introduced due to the work.

The BMW TIS instruction for bleeding brakes with cars equipped with DSC (your is) notes that the BMW Diagnosis and Info System (DIS system) must be connected in order to run through the bleeding correctly.  If they didn't follow this then they messed up, and should fix at their expense as suggested above.
