2008 X6 Nav Issue

I've just picked up a 2008 X6 with media package and the navigation voice is a horrible American woman. Added to that, the audio is not being quietened when the nav speaks instructions. This makes me think it might have a dodgy nav DVD - it looks usual (8-2) and has the right part number, but perhaps it is a bootleg? My 2008/9 E60 with professional nav didn't have that voice (it was perfectly British) and worked great, so I don't see why this X6 should be like this....

Just wanted to check what I should expect before I go back to the BMW dealer, as it's approved used...

My 2011 is very definitively a British voice......never heard any other accent in any of our BMWs.  All have OEM discs or databases.

Cheers but is your 2011 not the later iDrive? With shortcut buttons? That might make a difference perhaps

I don't think it makes any odds.  The voice locale will still be 'British' English.

There's the language settings in there in one of the main settings menus but set to UK English.
