4.6is v focus ST (list of old cars now on split thread)

Hi guys, theres always a bit of banter at work regarding various cars, but one that is most often brought up is, Focus ST v and 4.6 X5. This Focus is a very nice car and its very quick and to be honest i think its faster than the X5, but i would just like some thoughts by the guys in the know or if anyone has had a run in with one?

Hmm..............An odd first post, (& in abscence of an introduction too).

I might be wrong but guessing few 4.6is owners, (or indeed owners of other X cars), would have choose to "run with one."

Fwiw I would expect an ST to lap a track faster than a 4.6is if driven by the same driver in identical conditions. ST a very capable car albeit not my choice.

I hope folk here are sensible enough to avoid discussion which might provoke input from defensive owners of other marques - with this in mind I will try to avoid discussing the matter further

Never mind the 4.6 my twin turbo diesel can out drag an ST past the school gates at 3.15pm-he seemed to back out at 100mph

The focus RS will be quicker than mine though as the spoiler is bigger on a RS compared to ST

Sorry how rude of me, my names Ant and live in wigan area, no need to get silly with regard to racing near schools, i only wanted an idea!? oh and i'm meaning the 2.5T focus ST. Out of interest what cars did you all drive before your X5's?? and while i'm here whats the difference between E53 and E70 X5's??

Yes the 5 pot ST-sounds lovely

The e53 is the first gen x5 like the one you are referring too

The e70 was launched in 2007 and is the one I have

The clue is in my name as to what I had before my x5
