Definitely need arch extensions in order to avoid issues with the tyres extending beyond the legal limits. If in the 12 o'clock position the tyre tread area extends beyond wheel arch it's an MOT 'Advisory' and might even get failed as having bodywork or parts extending in a dangerous way.

Richard, is it not a case that the tyre being round in circumference as is a clock, then it is always in the 12 o'clock position not a matter of 'IF'...... ???

I have an E53 sport which has the slightly wider wheel arch extensions, so will these be ok or will they rub ?
Pictures ?

hi only an E53 with arch extensions I think ! The fronts will fit an E70 but rears have smaller bore size 72.6 compared with 74.1

 It's where the measurement is taken, as in straight up from the top of the tyre to wheel arch. MOT Testers have to be told where to check it apparently.....Can't get the techs these days......

Centre bore in the E70 is 74.1 whereas E53 is 72.6 so you will indeed need spigot rings all round.
