Hi all, I've just joined the forum and thought I'd pop some pictures of the car up in here.
2006 3.0d Sport Exclusive, in grey. It's pretty much the exact spec and colour I was after, give or take a few options
Its covered 62500 miles and comes with the following
Sat Nav/Freeview TV
Bluetooth
Heated nappa leather
Comfort pack
Sun protection
Xenons (a deal breaker)
Detatchable towbar
Hope you guys like, any comments (other than the poor photo quality) great fully recieved

Welcome along.
Nice tidy looking example you have there. Any plans for any mods yet.
Plenty of info on here for you, plenty of banter too.

You'll be needing an intravee soon then

Cheers guys,
Plans are, remove swirl flaps, remap (this badly needs done) and get the parking heater working, but that seems like a minefield in its own, TV in motion would be handy too.
Intravee, I'm not too fussed about at the moment, I usually listen to the radio in the car.

This is good to hear, I was always under the impression it was only early cars that didn't have them, if mine doesn't then that's saved me a job and some £ss.

Welcome to the forum Martin, lovely looking example.
As others have stated, no swirl flaps, remap will improve drivability - just curious why you think it's slow (apart from what you came out of). Just make sure mechanically it's sound, so that nothing is choking performance.
Shame you're so far North. There's a Meet happening today, you'd have got some great ideas and tips, plus Jason being the host could of helped (BMW Indy).
Welcome all the same

Thanks Sanj,
The lack of swirl flaps is good news, this has brightened up my Sunday morning
I had an inspection 2 carried out at a local indy, including replacement of the Turbo breather, around 3 weeks ago, he checked everything over and has given it a clean bill of health, so i feel a remap is now a necessary investment
Being so far north means we miss most shows and meets, which is a shame

welcome along.. and a nice looking car there.
remap - i guess you have come to the right place, this forum has lots of info and probably the best at the job as well. best is it can even be done remotely..
tv in motion - u have a digital tuner i suppose, if not the analogue tuner like in mine are now just added weight.. so they don't work when stationary let alone in motion
cos the analogue signal is switched off.

Thank you Jaynana,
I have indeed got digital TV as its a 2006 car, I believe that digital was the default choice when the TV option was chosen on the later cars.
After browsing through the forum I think I want to retrofit the 4.6 front and rear valances after seeing Sanjs car with them fitted, totally transforms the car.

By the way tv in motion is pretty useless on the move, the tuner doesn't handle a moving signal very well

Nice base example.
The X will feel very slow by comparison to your previous motor but a decent remap will yield the desired results.
