Intravee 'extras'

Hi,
Bought the Intravee II off Phill on here & have fitted ito into my X with no problems. What a great piece of kit, especially with the extra's
Anyway I emailed Intravee support as the vehicle service shows incorrect info & I wanted to check where the Intravee got the info from. Apparently it reads this from the car but it is showing fuel type as petrol where mine is diesel. Not sure if the other info is correct, it says 1900 litres of fuel which equates to approx 11500 miles & next service due 14/4/2013 where the last service was carried out 28/4/2011. Mileage from last service to now would be about right so it could just be fuel type that is wrong. Intravee support have asked if my car has 'high cluster' ( what is this ? ) & that I can get the cluster to display my cars service info but I'm not sure how to do this, can anyone help ?
Regards, Phil.

Do you have an iPhone 4? I have my intravee up for sale too but I also modified my iPhone 4 snap in adapter to work with the intravee

I do have iphone 4 but dont really have the need for snap in adaptor as I'm rarely in the car long enough to need it charging & I've always found the phone reception adequate for what I need. It connects via the bluetooth no probs as well. Also I dont store much music on my phone.
Sanj, sorry to here you are down in the dumps
Anything we can help with ? Least we can do for all the brilliant advice you give.
In the meantime there is no rush with my querry, the main thing is the Intravee is all working
Hope your feeling better soon.
Kind regards, Phil.

Think that's Phill's car information being displayed.
Have you tried rebooting the Intravee - it's in one of the menus (Diagnostics).
'high cluster' is the pixel display in your dash.
See if the above work, if not you may need to change the firmware for the Intravee to 'reset' itself.

Shhhh, don't upset him ! How would we manage to sort out our Intravee problems ?
Sanj, thanks for the advice, I'll give that a go.
Will I loose any settings etc by re-booting ?
Cheers, Phil.

No but the Controls option might disappear and you need to accept the Yes option on the fourth page of the disclaimer if that should happen.
But do contact the support team, they may know a better or proven method. I'm guessing...

Hi again,
I contacted support hence my question about the high cluster, they suggested I check what the vehicle is displaying but I'm not sure how to do this ?
Copy of reply from Intravee support -
The service information is picked up automatically based on a broadcast message from the instrument cluster. We have seen a few cases where the information displayed is not correct but we don't know why, either the way we interpret the message is wrong or the message sent is wrong. There is always a small possibility that a replacement cluster has not been coded correctly but this seems unlikely.
Does your X5 have the high cluster, you can get the cluster to display the data displayed on the Service Info menu. It would be interesting to see if it is also incorrect.
Any ideas how I can get my car to display the service info ?
Phil.

just a quick one the info that the intravee is not off my car, as I checked mine and is said the last service was sometime in 2009 (that wasn't it's last service), which is different than what you have stated. I know that this does not solve the issue, just letting you know that it is reading the info to a point off your car. Glad it's working and you are enjoying it.

High Cluster by what they think is similar to the E70 cars then. That info is not available on the E53's.
Wife's 1 Series has it and that's similar to the E70's.
Ask them if there is anyway to reset the IV without a new firmware build.

I noticed mine is displaying that I have a petrol model, my mirrors still don't work and nor does the auto lock.
What are your thoughts Sanj? My intravee was a new item from TIYC

Russ can you update yourself? Do you have a laptop? I can send you a link to the cable which is £7 (serial to USB courtesy of RichardP).
Then we can have a play with different firmware. I did install the one I thought would be most stable on yours??? Might need to drop RichardP a mail in the morning on your behalf.
