Main beam not working

I got the message check main beam, i did and there not working?
I tested one of the bulbs and its ok, so i'm thinking maybe a fuse?
Would the main beam light be on different fuse to the normal driving beam?
Does anyone know the number of the fuse?
Also the drivers side front fog lamp is blinking, i would presume this is the bulb?
Or could these faults be conected?
Any other ideas guys?
Cheers

Fuses 2, 9 or 61.

Fog flickering, been in deep water recently or heavy rain. Connector could have water in it...?

Connector has water ingress? Dry it out perhaps?

Swap the bulbs, see if it follows the bulb?

Are you getting a blue tell-tale in the dash?

Thinking out loud here......what 'switches' the power to the main beam?  The headlight stalk, a relay or the Light Control Module?

Owners of cars which have suffered main beams being locked on have reported that it is the LCM that has failed, hence wondering is the reverse can happen and also requires the LCM to be repaired/replaced - they're expensive black boxes!!

I'm getting the dash blue light, possibly a good job I've got a 3 month warranty I think!

Good luck with that one....
Can you check with a meter or test lamp to see if there is power to the lamp holder?
I would imagine the LCM would control the lamps independently to reduce the loss of all lighting, locking on would indicate a fail safe mode. For both to fail either a supply to the LCM or a connector from the module would be a first point of checking.

wouldn't a scanner 1.4.0 be able to assist with diagnostics?
