Newbie with sound upgrade questions

Hi all,

I've just acquired my 2nd X5 after a long hiatus driving complete dross. Coincidentally I've bought exactly the same 4.6 iS model I had previously although a slightly different spec.

I want to upgrade my speakers all round but am struggling to find anything that would replace those in the dash and in the upper part of the rear door. I'm lead to believe they are 2.5" midrange speakers.

Does anyone know of any speakers that would be a decent straightforward replacement for those currently in-situ? I was planning on replacing the 6.5" in the doors and tweeters on the wing mirrors with alpines.  ;)

Car is great, fuel economy as expected  :P, my only gripe is the pixel failure on the instrument binnacle. I've purchased a replacement ribbon from AK Speedo and am going to attempt the repair myself at the weekend. Seems straightforward enough but am I little nervous about using a drill in close proximity to such delicate equipment!

Welcome, and make sure you document (including pics) when you do the pixel fix!  ;)

I've heard a couple of people speak highly of BSW , here's a link to their site ;
