W*nker lights

I'm due to get my car fitted with the performance kit in a couple of days and as the new front end does away with the fog lights I'm thinking about fitting some DRLs, you know the really annoying bright LED ones that the Merc/audi brigade have these days, I'm not overly fond of the look but the front end looks a bit big and boring if its just all black, too chav do you think?

Here is my artists impression of the finished article (without the side skirts and the LEDs of course)

LED placement as in the following photo, what do you think, good idea/bad idea?..

Prefer without, I really like the halo's which light up my entire drive at night :)

Which we can't fit!!  Well we can, but only OEM and at VAST expense at present.  The X6 LCI Light units do fit apparently - but are silly money.  Needs new modules and coding as well as the physical lamp units.

We can even have the full LED conversion too - except that's even sillier money!!

Given the limited option with the DRLs, that's about the best position - and the Philips kit is available from BMW anyway.  I think it's the 4 or 5-LED version rather than the newer 8-LED design.

I've got a set of Hella LEDayline DRLs but I'm still undecided over if I want to use them.  :noexpression:

I've got my halos LED modified and they are good enough but the fully blacked out look just seems a bit too rat though :-\

DRLs in my opinion. Very subtle that low down.

Can you get rid of the reflectors?

If you go non-OEM then you could try the Philips Daylight 8 System.........no reflector.

The wiring is the same as the OEM version, just newer styling.  You just need to play around with the bracket to make sure the lamp units face directly ahead in order to get the full effect.

Come on man! Wanna give an Indian a heart-attack!

I'm think £5.99 and a box of mangos for a set of DRLs!!!

In that case, a trip to Maplin (for a soldering iron) and a bag of LEDs and resistors off EBay......... :)).

Oh and a drill.. ;)

But....this is for a Performance Kit.......NOT a Corsa 'low rider'!
