I really like the way it looks. I wonder what would be the power options on it.

Autocar article.
1.5 litre 3-cyl hybrid all wheel drive. Conventional (well chopped in half 6-cyl) up front and leccy motor at the back.

well, now i get it.. (now that i finally had time to read it
)
its a 'UKL1 platform' which in german aparently means 'entry level';
and in their quest to reach corporate numbers they seem to have ditched their longitudinal mounted RWD layout in favour of FWD for the entry level cars. to quote 'the about turn is driven by the need to reduce production costs and provide competitive packaging for a new generation of small cars'.
(i knew i didn't like this..
) )
in years to come i wouldn't be surprised if mainstream 3 serieses etc start appearing with the same layout..
recession is still on us i guess!..
