WANTED: BMW X5 (E70)

Post by Shez1878 » Sun Sep 16, 2012 6:29 pm

I'm a bit of a perfectionist I'm afraid so needs to be in immaculate condition. Full service history, no accidents however minor, 7-seater  preferred.

Budget around £16k-£18k.

Cheers!

£16-18K isn't going to buy you a great E70, will have to be a high miler at that money and then I imagine condition could become an issue.

Good point. I will probably end up going to £20k but has to be the right one.

Seen one which is perfect but need to sell mine first! Sale fell through last week :(

Whats the spec of the car you have seen, sounds well priced for a decent E70.

If you have a look on pistonheads there are a few 4.8 E70's on there but I guess you probably want a diesel and they will be more.

Having a quick look on piston heads there are some 3.0 diesels but they have high mileage on 70k and your paying £18k upwards for them but also the spec may be important I.e. 7 seats

Saw this one
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4255470.htm

Better miles and sub 20k

Thanks Graeme. Looked at that one, but not a 7 seater. Not sure about the alloys either to be honest!

Just be mindful that early 3.0's are of the high road fund licence group, so make sure you budget that in. It wasn't until the SD's and above came in that they reduced the emissions etc iirc.
