Well I have a PS2 in my X5, this was already in the car when I got it. Problem is I and my boys are Xbox360 fans and we would love an xbox360 instead of the PS2.
Has anyone fitted a 360 with sucsess ? Or can someone point me in the right direction please ?
Regards Si

Afraid I don't...

But get a car compatible power source and wire it up like the PS2 and you're away!

Not really sure whether or not its a good idea.

360 and PS3 arent really enjoyable unless your playing them in HD... thats my opinion anyways and i dont think you can get HD incar screens yet although correct me if i am wrong.

Also the amount of power a 360 requires is going to put alot of strain on the battery.
you would also want a direct connection to the battery as i have had that connecting something so powerful through the lighter socket is tempermental and the power outputs coming from the socket has blown a few Ps3's.

All in all if you are intent, then buy the best screens you can, some will only allow you to connect upto 32bit consoles (ps1) and some will allow upto 128bit (ps2 range). then you may want to consider buying a heavy duty battery or even a second battery to keep it powered, and powered in a way that the console wont blow.

Then you need to think ventilation. I know the PS3's require alot of it, my knowledge doesnt stretch to the 360 though.

If you try googling it there should be loads of info!

Thanx for the comments guys.
I already do have a PS2 all connected up and running to the rear DVD screens. However I seem to remember someone saying that it's the wattage of the consoles you have to look at ?
I was kinda hoping that someone had fitted an Xbox360 into there X5 that could give me some guidance.
I am no auto electrician and don't want to blow the car upĀ  :(
The PS2 that is fitted I believe has a 12volt input/output on it and I was hoping there was some way of getting the Xbox360 to run on this power lead.

If anyone knows anything about this, then please let me know.

Regards Si

Normal PS2 were developed using around 110w of power, newer consoles such as ps3 and 360 use almost 200w. Youl need to get an inverter to handle the output.

Again you would drain the battery and wouldn't recommend using it on shorter journeys.

ive fitted an xbox 360 to mine (for the kids in the back obviously) lol.

Originally had the ps2 fitted but thats a bit dated now and the kids are xbox players, only problem for the xbox was the power difference from the ps2, easy overcome by purchasing an inverter thats rated for the xbox, wire it in and bobs yer uncle
