Sorry guys I know this have been covered a few times but I'm still none the brighter (no pun intended )having read the posts :bangin:
My side/park light bulb (the one that lights up the angle eyes on first light on setting) has gone on my my passenger side.
The bulb required is this one -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Xenon-Hea ... 27c94b2736
But at 25 odd quid for a side light bulb is taking the pi** slightly, so I have been looking at some alternatives (as it seems you cannot buy the 10w bulb on its own) to give a slightly brighter angel eye light but also be cheaper for a side light bulb.
The only problem I have is which one of these on the following pages do I need -
http://hids-direct.co.uk/categories/man ... X5/2001-06
I'm not really after the brightest angel eyes in the world just something that won't throw up error messages and be cheaper as a pair than the original BMW item.
Cheers
Max

Help with Bulbs (again!) ..... Side/Park light...
Re: Help with Bulbs (again!) ..... Side/Park light...
The kit I fitted came from HIDS4U and was plug and play - both bulbs changed in about 5 mins. No errors at all.
The kit here is out of stock at present, but may be available elsewhere. The only thing that happens is that the LEDS flash a few times when the car is started as part of the 'cold lamp check', but I never saw that as an issue and they worked just fine....
It looks as if this is the same kit from hids-direct.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Thanks X5Sport. I get the impression you either upgrade to brighter LEDs (as per your link) or you buy the original BMW bulb.
Anybody managed to find some regular bulbs as replacement?
Ironically I don't mind the 'mellow yellow' colour of the angels against the super whites I have as the main lights

Help with Bulbs (again!) ..... Side/Park light...
I used GP Thunder 8500k that I bought off an eBay seller in the US. It's the H8 bulb on my E70 with Xenons but I Think they vary. They give a very nice white light but aren't as bright as the original bulbs during the day.
Here is pics of mines, original on the right and GP Thunders on the left.

It's either the OE ones or the kind as per Richards link. You can get the led ones off eBay for around £25ish. Something like eBay item number 300610526738.
