Any idea?

Aside from the hail damage, I've now got a sticky oily dribble on the rear passenger side tailgate area.
It's not coming from the very top or the dampers which hold the tailgate up, but seems to be making its way from the inner light cluster. That one wasn't smashed in the storm so it may be just a coincidence.
I'll make the insurer aware as it started the day after the tailgate was damage (along with every other bloody panel!)
Any thoughts?

Could possibly be body cavity anti corrosion wax- as the weather warms up any excess could be bleeding through gaps between the body panels etc. Best to have it checked out though.

Sounds the most likely to me. Can't think what else is around that area that could seep.

Thanks guys
Only just got back from France - 650 miles today since 7am It was a pleasure and I feel as if I could drive them all again (sure I couldn't but currently feel good)
No news on the insurance, I'll call them tomorrow.
Sounds plausable re seeping wax, again I'll make a call tomorrow and go from there.
Will keep you posted.

I would have thought they were using a hardier cavity wax than that. Not much point in installing said if at the first sign of warm weather it promptly runs out is there. I mean we get 30+ here too (I do mean C not F

)
It is the most likely scenario though. Very odd.. ???
I can imagine the Dealer and Insurance Assessor's first words when they see the car though....

:blink:

I suggest car wax from cavity. MK II golfs used to do this.............a lot.
