Ok then, just wondering, which car have you enjoyed owning the most? It doesn't necessarily have to be fast, or expensive, just enjoyable to own.
I will set the ball rolling with a 205 1.9gti. It wasn't the mintest car, but it was a whole lot of fun, (for about 5k if I remember right)
it could be driven lazily-you could get away with pretty much leaving it in the gear it was in and it would still go ok, it looked nice too IMO. I replaced it with something faster, better and more expensive but that's the car that I have the fondest memories of.
What's yours.

Probably my old Mk3 Cavalier SRi 130. For its day (early 90's) it was quick, comfortable, economical and a great workhorse. On top of the it was cheap and easy to service, and very reliable. No computer wizardry required to do anything, no coding, no fibre optic warp speed whizzy data networks and real dials connected by Bowden cables for the speedo. Good thing it was easy to look after coz the local Vauxhall Dealer in Aldershot was rubbish......probably sells BMWs now!
I had it for more than 7 years and put getting on for 100k on it. It had a new interior from a scrappy fitted when the drivers seat wore out and it was cheaper just to change everything out for a later and better version. Other than that only ever needed a new alternator and battery.
It was the last (and best) of my 4 Cavaliers and was replaced by the first of 3 Skoda Octavia Estates - all of which were very good too. Shame the X5 and X6 haven't been quite as good though.
Both of us loved that car H790 WTO - Mrs X5Sport called it 'Thomas'. Long since been turned into baked bean tins I should think.

Had to think about this.............1980 Ford Cortina MkV 2.0 Ghia............bought for £1750 in 1986.
My second ever car and replaced a 1256cc Cavalier (I broke engine).
1st car I owned which actually had useable performance, was capable entertaining B road blasts & allowed me to cut my RWD teeth absent of any modern driver aids. I managed to just about keep it in one piece albeit with a couple of minor mishaps along they way.
That car taught me about RWD car physics, was smooth & amazingly controlable on limit for what it was.
Other cars followed, my Scirocco taught me FWD lessons, my 4x4 Sierra 4wd lessons, the Mk1 MR2 mid engined handling lessons.
My Cortina allowed me to find mine & the cars limits & proved a sound foundation for driving in later years.
Fortunately I tend to drive in a slightly more restrained manner than I did back then.

I must have only owned cr@p cars really as my fondest memories are of my 1979 cavalier 1.6 saloon ( bored out to 1.7- oooh the rwd power ) with greatly lowered and uprated suspension (you had to lift the car on its arches to get a trolly jack under the front) and rostile wheels.....
That was my second car and I drove everywhere in it. Que trip down memory lane.
I do like my current E46 3 series, but I wish I hadn't been looking for cheaper running costs when I bought it and had stumped for a 6pot, but I love the drive non the less.

It would have to be the 306 D-Turbo I got when I was 18 - It was the best car in the car park at school when I was there! I loved every part of it and I have fond memories of exploring the roads having just learnt to drive. It was an absolute work horse and I think I put about 50k on it in 2 years! Only thing I replaced was tyres and wishbone.
It was a comfy car, pretty nippy compared to anything my mates had. I upgraded the sound system (as you do as a lad) and was forever out and about in it when Diesel was cheap and it did 45mpg! Brilliant!

very fond memories of my 1989 Honda Crx, what a little crotch rocket that was with its 8000 redline 130 horses and weighing under a tonne! (Good antidote to more common golf GTi and 205s - both of which I love too).
My fondest though is my 1990 911 c2, manual, coupé (964) in drug dealer white, which I've kept for the past 17 years and will remain as a family heirloom to pass to the kids
. May not be the fasted car around these days, but every time I get to drive her she never fails to remind me what real driving pleasure is.... burbley air cooled flat six, speedboat like pointy front end, no electro gizmos and the only nod to active safety being ABS... Great. Always return home happy and can even get the kids in the back!

Nice!
Always loved the kit
I had the V6 ghia
Loved that car although it was my most unreliable car after the X5 although in defence of it, it turned out most of the problems were created by the dealer - no surprises there!
