As my X is destroyed with paint chips, thought I'd get a set of flaps. Bought some sturdy moulded ones that are ( supposed to be) designed for the E70 SD I thought these would be perfect. Box arrived with Beemer numbers all over them, screws and no instructions. Has anyone fitted these before? Two or three of the holes line up but others don't, and as I probably don't own that bit of the car yet, am a tad nervous of just ploughing a screw into the plastic wheel arch.
When I do present them, there is also a small gap and they are not 100% fit, pretty close but again have a thought that it's going to look like a bodge job.
So, has anyone fitted, if so how and are they completely flush? May take pics if it helps.
Whilst we're on, and I know there is bucket loads of 20 inch stone chipping threads, has anyone been successful going for a paint warranty clause? (it's 2008) so out of car warranty but thought about ten year paint warranty, or am I fighting a losing battle?

Re: Mud flaps
hi my mudflaps were fitted by the dealer on a motor sport model 2011 when you look under neath it looks like they have cut a notch out of the rear piece of the bodykit,as for the paint chips complain to the dealer and get him to submit a claim to BMW they have accepted loads of claims for this.

Re: Mud flaps
I had mudflaps also on my 2008 SD, think there is also a bit trimmed from the body kit but will have a look.
Go for a goodwill gesture on the paint chipping, loads of people have got it sorted FOC.
