Sports exhaust?

It's been about 3 months now I've had the SD and although it's been to Jason in for a tune and I do love it, it is still missing something. It's taken me a while to work it out but it's too quiet. I have a 996 with he sports exhaust and that's the best button on the whole car.....just awesome :upset: :upset:
So, can you get one for a 5? Just think that would finish the car off and give me a huge amount of smiles. Any suggestions?

Not from BMW, but there will be custom options from the aftermarket exhaust suppliers. No 'button' as such either unless you have already got the Dynamic Drive options installed at build...it was only ever an option on certain models anyway. Nearest you'll get to the 'button' is 'Sport' on the auto selector, which does nothing for noise of course.
Raj had a custom system put on his V8 E53, but petrol cars are easier to do for 'noise'. Whether the firm he used can do you something similar for yours will be a case of asking.

Diesel will always sound like a tractor - it will never be a Porsche.

I know Porsche now have the diesel version but think he meant more the sound.
BUT, in terms of sound under the bonnet, I agree, a diesel is a diesel at the end of the day, however at the rear end you can get a diesel to sound pretty good. Talk to Raj @ Profusion in Slough and I'm sure he can do something to add that missing something.

You must know where I'm coming from with the wife's new box and I saw you had a new 911 for a while, how lucky was that?!
I think the engine on the x is so powerful it should at least let everyone know when it's arriving! Yes I am pretentious and proud of it!

Of course I understand on the right car.
I have a rather loud trick exhaust on the exige which is actually now too noisy to get on some tracks because of the noise at 8.5k revs
My new Rs4 has been ordered with a sports exhaust to amplify that V8 and although I didn't spec the PSE on the boxster it still sounds pretty good to me!
I just think you will ever get a diesel to sound nice

Must admit, no way would a diesel have sounded that good with the XKR on my drive last couple of days. OMG, that was awesome. Simple trick to the standard setup was to remove a fuse to leave the exhaust 'open' at all times, think he said baffles???
Man that sounded gooooood.

If the proposal for electric cars is accepted internationally then you will indeed be able to 'turn it down'. The proposal was to add a speaker and Amp which plays a sound effect.....so who will put that blasted annoying frog in as their 'car ring tone'......

[/quote]The swordfish car is a Tuscan & the neighbours never seem to appreciate the sound of a TVR, people have said to me that they think there is something wrong with my exhaust
