Hi,
I may have to sell my X5 & I would like your thoughts on what I could expect to get for her ideally as a private sale but also as a ball park figure for p/x althought I really want to replace it with something cheaper.
Details -
BMW X5 Le Mans 3.0d Auto.
Black nappa sport seats & silver trim.
Registered December 2005 so cheap(er) VED.
Excellent condition, good tyres only 53000 miles & ordered with the following options -

Ah well, starting to make some progress on mine but will only be happy when it's perfect!

No one want to offer their opinion ? I've looked at advertised prices but these do not tell you what they sell for & I would really appreciate the thoughts of all you knowledgeable people 

Just a stab based on a couple of other cars I have seen, but unfortunately would say only £12500 - £14000 max but please don't quote me on this.

All I can offer is that mine went with similar mileage but a higher spec (Comfort Seats, Nav, TV, CD-changer, Comms Pack, Towbar, Load Floor, Xenons and adjustable back seat backs) for 12,000 to a Dealer who put it on the forecourt at £16.5k as anAUC car.  I'm told they got very close to that when they sold it in Sept 11.

Somewhere between £11k and £13k would be my guesstimate..........but it is only a guesstimate.  A lot (but not all) of the options you list were 'standard' on the Sport in 2005 so it doesn't stand out as a high spec car which may limit what you can ask.  The mileage is good though, and definitely a big plus...

I recently spent a few months looking at X5,s as yours has £270 tax it will be worth more than a post march 23 rd 2006 car.

Heated seats and sunroof are +s as well so is the mileage.

It the car is very clean you could get uto £14,000 private, but a dealer would offer a lot less.

If only you were selling in March I would have been intrested.

Prices are all over the place. Depends how quickly you want to sell!?

I should have said it has the comms pack as well ( nav, tv, etc )
With regards the spec can someone confirm, I know some of the options listed where standard fit ( this was just a list I have that were down on the original order spec sheet ) & that an auto box, although an option is pretty much a given but as far as I know the panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, electric heated seats with driver memory & elec lumbar support & climate screen were all extra cost options ?
Is this correct ?

I think this is correct for the Sport version based on my Invoice.  Added Nappa as that was a £1790 option over cloth seats.  I can add the other prices too if you want for the options that I had.  All in all that makes yours MUCH more desirable than first written up....... ) ). Definitely a nearer £14k candidate with good rubber fitted..

Of course you lose points for that horrible cassette deck in the dash :-[

Hi, thanks again for reply. It difficult judging prices they are selling for as opposed to what they are advertised for so I appreciate all of the input.
I think the 20" wheels & Nappa leather may have been included on the Le-Mans edition ?
Tyres are Toyo's all round, backs are hardly worn, fronts probably half worn.
I know what you mean about the cassette deck, does anyone actually use theirs ?
I'm not in a desperate rush to sell so think I'll put it up for £13.5k & see what response I get.
Just need it to stop raining now so I can take some pics !

Nope! - Took me a while to actually discover it, when I hit the flip up button I expected a "face off" security option! My daughter thinks that the flip up thing is cool and shows everyone much to my embarrasment when tape slot revealed!!

I take it that much investment went into unit that they continued to use it! - or do they still use tapes in US and mainland Europe?

Well I use mine  I have a great collection of audio books / BBC comedy shows from days of yore - Goon Shows, Dads Army etc. mostly sourced for 50p or so from charity shops and car boot sales........so I appreciate the hidden tape deck  ) )

On our E46 it opens to reveal a MiniDisc player......another piece of dead/dying tech.... ::)
