Hi guys

Picked the car up this morning, really happy and do far so good.

Quick Bluetooth question - currently using the iPhone I can only see a single song on the car's screen, not playlists etc.

I can pick a song on the phone and it plays, I can pick the next song but I can't find playlists.....

Any thoughts please guys?

Thanks

Bluetooth doesn't carry the playlists.  You need to either use the iPhone cable via the USB port, or have the full multimedia snap in adapter - you also need the full media option installed in the car for that snap in to fully function.  Do you have an options list?

Oh and.......:worthless:

Thanks, that's what I thought.

Got the media package, advanced Bluetooth etc. I do have the ability to use a snap-in adaptor, can't b arsed to buy one though TBH

I guess I'll buy a cable from fleebay rather than the stealer and use an iPod.

Any iDevice cable will do doesn't need the stealer cable at all.....and the base snap-in is about £70.  That at least connects the phone to the sharkfin aerial and charges it too.  Music and phone still runs via Bluetooth.  Fully functioned snap-in is about £100 more, but they may be appearing from other sources now too.  Same one fits a number of BMW cars.

I took the precaution of bringing an iPod and cable and it all works fine.

One for starters, I'll take some more when I get home later :)

If you do change your mind and get a media snap-in (the only way that video will work off an iPhone) then make sure it's the second version which includes a small fan.  The original one apparently results in the iPhone overheating under certain playback conditions.  Beware in case the Parts Dept are still holding mk1 stock!

Appreciate the advice - not going to bother though. I've got a 160gb I don't use which is now loaded with songs and in the car using an Apple cable. The only consideration is the iPhone(s) need a charger which will live in the centre glovebox.
