Wheel arch extenders

I really like the painted wheel arch extenders that most X5's seem to have. Are there any comparable options for the X6 or do they come as standard on any models.

I have looked but cant find any online, but was told by a X5 owner that they are standard on a "sport" model.

I have a 2012 40d so the wheel arch is a black flush trim at the moment.

The X6 comes with 'flared' arches anyway as part of the design of the car - the four corners are much more flared if you compare them to the standard E70.  My other half always says the X6 has a 'large bum'.  I think they only actually look flared if you have the 19" wheels because the 20" or 21" fill the rear arches completely.

The only additional 'extensions' are from the aftermarket companies such as AC Schnitzer, Akrapovic etc.

I'm the same, saw an x5 today with the extended 'lip' arches.... Very nice!

Not into modifying cars per say (see x5sports still plugging his x6 falcon!) but would be interested in original BMW parts to achieve this look, with colour coding would look fantastic!

Are you referring to the same as ours?

If so, they're standard on the M Sport and I guess could be purchased as an 'after market' part?

Had a look around Realoem and nothing seems to be in there, even for the 'Performance' parts, and for the LCI version including the new 'M'.  I don't know how wide the E70 is with those arch extensions, but the E71 is very close to the 6'6" limit (not including the mirrors, it's actually just over with 20" rims & tyres) 'as built' so perhaps that may be limiting in order to avoid road restrictions?  It obviously doesn't bother the aftermarket boys, so why haven't BMW produced anything?  Or may be that should include 'yet'.

The 19" wheels disappear inside the arches, and the 20/21" don't exceed them.  Maybe they're just not needed so BMW don't see a market for them is the answer?  IMHO of course.......

This is true, BMW made 20's an after-thought option on the 'is' models and ended up getting into strife over the legalities of how much the tyres extended out of the body of the car. Hence the arches.

Granted the X6 may not need them from legal aspect but it would look better with them and a set of spacers perhaps. But again, IMHO....

Looking at Mogsyman's new toy, they certainly do finish it well.  They would look better than the standard flat black plastic currently there.  I wonder if the E70 ones ft.... ???

Next you'll be suggesting 425/20/22 tyres on the back and a jacking kit.......  Old school....

That is exactly what i am looking for. Just looks a lot better finished than the black plastic trim that runs round the arches at the moment.
