Some questions I have

Hi there I am reasonably new here although I have spent a load of time on the E53 threads getting loads of useful info as I had been planning on buying one.

Now I have decided to up my budget slightly and I'm looking at an E70 and have some questions.

I have my eye on a black 2007 xdrive30d SE from a BMW dealership it has done 37,000 miles. It has a few options that I don't know what's included in them, I can't view this car until I'm home in 4 weeks, so wanted to ask you guys.

1. What is included in the dynamic package?

2. What's included included in the media package?

3. What's included in the loudspeaker BMW business option?

4. What's the differences between the SE and the Msport?

It also has heated front seats, heated steering wheel, folding mirrors, velour floor mats, lumber supports, aluminium running boards and sun protection glass but they are self explanatory.

Also it has Camel Nevada Leather but the Site hasn't any pictures of the interior yet and I don't know what that colour looks like. Do any of you have this colour and please could you post a picture of your interior.

Sorry for waffling on, it would be great to get some feedback on these questions.

Now been talked into an 08 plate!! Damn salesman lol. Almost exactly the same added extras as the one above but with Xenons plus I'm getting a very good deal on it. The salesman is a friend of the family and he is friends with the 1 previous owner so knows its history well. Really excited about this one.

Need to speak to the wife nicely and hopefully I will be driving a nice big X on my next R&R at home in 4 weeks.

Hi.

Not entirely sure about the differences or what's included but I'm sure someone will be along shortly.

It would be good to know the model year as these cars change subtly frequently and the year will make a difference.

I know what you mean about being up-sold, I went to get a '10 or 11 plate for my Mrs. and ended up with a brand spanking unregistered new one which we pick up tomorrow.

Don't worry I will be driving a hard bargain lol.

I have done a bit of digging regarding specs and I am happy with the SE with dynamic pack and it has running boards which I wanted due to having twins on the way.

Im still not sure what's in the media package but the camel Nevada I asked about is now irrelevant due to this one having black leather.

The 'Business' loudspeaker pack is the base package and does need an upgrade in my opinion. The packages vary year on year as Mogsyman suggests so it's difficult to get an exact spec.

The Business pack was a 12-speaker 205 Watt (total) with a digital amp and equaliser. Upgrades were to a 'Logic 7' system with 16-speakers, including two powered subs under the front seats and 600W plus surround capability, or up again to the 'Individual' system which added more total power (around 800W I think), better amp and better speakers.

I have the Logic 7 system in my X6 and it really is rather good. I didn't feel that the Individual was worth paying a lot of money for when it will be affected by road noise!

The 08 plate I'm now looking at doesn't have the loudspeaker package but not too bothered as I rarely listen to music, mostly talksport.

I'm hoping they still have this car in 4 weeks when I get home so I can give it a good once over. I will report back if I pull the trigger or not.

Macky, did the salesman have anything to say about the one with the camel interior? I've got a pal who's interested in it and was wondering what put you off it. It seems really well priced for the mileage and spec.

No mate he never knew much about it as he works at a different dealership but he knows the guy who traded in the 08 plate and knows its history. I'm interested in this one but going to hold off until I'm home in 4 weeks so I can see it, if it's sold then so be it I will find another.

The black 07 plate looks very nice too and a good price especially if u can get it down a bit.

Well have decided to go ahead with the 08 plate 3.0d. Wife is going tomorrow with her dad to get a proper look and then if all good sign the paperwork. I managed to get a great price, and also a brilliant trade in price for my current car. Will be posting pics tomorrow of my X if it's signed.

DGM did your friend buy the black one? I was told by my salesman today that the black one had now been sold.

No, he procrastinated as usual and as you say the car is already sold. It really was priced keenly so no surprise.

Yeah it was a good price and good spec too. I was really surprised at the price I got the 08 and the trade in price. They are giving me £700 less for my vehicle than I paid 10 months ago. I expected a much bigger loss.

I'm told Douglas Parks sales figures haven't been great of late so perhaps that explains the keen sale and trade in prices. Makes a change from having to constantly travel to England to get well specced cars at decent prices.

That would explain it. I actually didn't believe him that the black one had been sold, I thought it was usual salesman patter to try and get me to jump. Well it worked lol.

Well that's the X now bought. My wife will be collecting it in a few days.

It's a 2008 space grey 3.0d SE 41,000 miles with dynamic pack, media pack, sun protection glass, xenon headlamps, front seat heating and aluminium running boards.

I can't wait to get home and drive it, only 3 and a half weeks left. Here is a few pics that was taken by the dealer.

I have already ordered some angel eye bulbs to get rid of the horrible OEM yellow lights.
