Is it congrats as you've bought a new one? Or just finally rectified the old?

I was ;) ....now sold thats why it's trouble free
I would have loved to upgrade to an E70 but the finances being as they are and work being so slow amongst other things it wasn't possible
So i have left the brand (temporarily i hope ) :) and gone back to a VW.
Got a little blue 1.9 tdi golf..... not quite an X5 but a great little car and the fuel difference puts a smile on your face.
Pics to follow.
Ohh and unfortunately for you lot i will be sticking around here and drooling over your lovely bmw's

You'll be noticing just a wee difference in the fuel figures then...... :o . I think my Octavia used to give almost 60mpg on the PD130 version of that engine.. :)

Sorry the 'X' had to go, but in the circumstances perfectly understandable. I'm not sure I would have lasted 8 years of hassle, 6 was bad enough.. . I don't think I went many weeks without some snaggette or another :x . Deeply envious of those who have had perfect, or nearly perfect ones.

You might be in a 40d afore long.........

Thanks fella,
You never know 40d.......this time next year ehh rodders  :))
I must add aswell the title of this thread is 'tongue and cheek' i have absaloutly loved both of my X5's and most of my problems have been maintenance issues bar the odd few probs.
It's not untill you go to a different brand that you realise the quality of the beemers and the little touches that make the difference.

Golf's are huge fun to drive and the difference in fuel economy will bring the biggest smile... :D

I've had to take a 'step' back a couple of times due to finances or other reasons and each time it's been to a MkIV Golf. The last one was a V6 4motion...lol what a great Ring toy... :drive:

Also when going back up the ladder it's always been a real step up so look forward to the new motor once things improve.
