Seatbelt warning

Post by UrbanFlow » Tue May 29, 2012 1:31 pm

Just realised my X5 has never warned me about the seatbelt not being fastened.
I always wear a seatbelt so never thought anything of it.
The seatbelt light comes on briefly at start up and then disappears, before you fasten the seatbelt.
I turned the car round on the drive the other day without a seatbelt and there were no lights or sounds.

Can they be turned off?
Is there a fuse relevant to it?

Any help appreciated.

Seatbelt warning

Turning around in drive wouldn't do it in mine as it comes on at about 10-15 mph at a guess. I have seen an option in 1.4.0 scanner to disable though

Seatbelt warning

Yes they can be turned off. They activate after a certain speed or distance or both so turning it around wont make it come on. Also doesn't come on when reversing which cancels the warning. For example, I park my car in the car park over the road from work as I have no onsite parking till after 4pm. If I move my car to the staff car park and don't put my belt on the warning pings just about as I pull up to the barrier, stick it in reverse while I'm waiting for security to let me in and it cancels it.
