Rear air vents problem?

The rear air blower vents which are located in the center arm rest always blow cold air, even if the dial is turned towards red! Why?? X5 2002 3.0d

There's a micro-switch in that whole contraption.

Two screws in the centre console (right at the to) when you lift the lid and it should pop out. Then unclip all the switches/lighter connections. That micro-switch will have a lever that will be broken or dislodged or the switch is gone.

Ok thanks. I've had this apart before and remember the micro switch. Must need a new one?? R they genuine only do u know? Also my radio just stopped working, any ideas? Checked fuses and ok!

May be the lever only, similar to the folding mirrors.

Radio only? All four corners giving you sound? Try the other sources as well.

Yes I av no sat nav just radio and it just turned off then on and now doesn't turn on at all but the BC display works and also the time works on the front! Tried pulling the fuses to reset! Is there a modual in the boot floor or sommat?

I think the module is immediately behind the battery under the black plastic cover and on the left if memory serves. Can you hear any tape (if you can find a cassette of course) or CD audio etc?

When I put the fuses bck in I can hear the cd changer cycling through the cd's! It's a weird one!
