Climate Control Blower

On parking up the car tonight, noticed the blower fan was running - left it for 20mins - still running. Started the car and tried to turn the blower off by reducing the speed to zero (no indicator bars showing) - however blower will not totally stop - one bar showing and AUTO still illuminated. I've pulled the fuse to save the battery in the mean time

Does anyone know what the fault is please?

Sounds like your hedgehog, your FSR, or the Final Stage Resistor ( one and the same)

Have a search on here and you will find plenty of info including where to find it etc

Hope that helps

Thanks very much - I note some Members hold that the hedgehog fault is found only on the pre-facelifts wheras mines a facelift. Worth a go I suppose - might be an age-related issue (the facelifts are getting old too!)

Best get one from the dealers as well, when I bought my car the dealer fitted a new one. Lasted 10 months, up on me buying a proper one I find that it was a copy. The OME come with I think 2 yrs warranty, takes 10 mins to fit.

Thanks for all the replies

Sorted it (I think)

Turned off aux heat and aux vent via scanner - left for a few hours - re-enabled - everything OK

Know that my battery is not so clever (6 years old and just survived the winter) so suspect it's a low volts issue affecting the PCs

If it does turn out to be the dreaded hedgehog that will kill your battery - beware!
