Upgrade to Facelift Alloys

Post by nickt68 » Sun Sep 26, 2010 10:19 am

Hi all, I've used the search but can't seem to find anything about upgrading to "facelift" alloys. I have a pre-facelift 4.4 Sport and wanted to check if I can just bolt on the facelift sport alloys?

Apologies if I haven't searched thoroughly enough but would appreciate any advice!

Thanks

I think any of the E53 style alloys will fit any E53 X5 as a straightforward swop, except for the 4.8, where 17" wheels won't fit over the brake calipers and need a minimum 18" wheel. So it should be very simple  don't forget to show off your new wheels in a photo.......

Thanks guys that's really helpful.

Condor, does that mean that the 202 Wheels would fit also?

Will get a photo up when the new ones are on!

If the 202 style is for E53s, then its a straight swop. If its an E70 style, then you'll need spigot rings and/or spacers I believe. And if its not for E53s or E70s, then be careful, the offset may be unsuitable or it may not clear the brakes.
