Blue smoke

Hello.

Today i noticed blue smoke billowing out the back end when i was setting off from the lights after idleing for a few minutes, this happened the other month so i changed my ccv's. The cars fine when it's going along and when i put my foot down there's no smoke.

I'm hoping it's not stem seals ( 103k ), is there anything else i can check to eliminate this problem, like breather pipes or something. It's an 04 4.4

Thanks.

.....and of course they don't rev the bolts off petrol engines either.. :headbang:

Can't say I have ever believed that particular test is really necessary. I always insist on watching the test and letting the tester know that I expect him to properly warm up the engine first (and let it run for a little while after so the turbo bearings don't roast!). Seems very unsympathetic mechanically.. :o
