E39/E46 Steering wheel eligibility

Hi ,

Does anyone know if the E39/E46 M Sport steering wheel fits the E53 X5 pls ??

Got any pictures? Most likely will fit but you would have to swap the airbag too.

i presume it's the same for the non paddleshift.
And with yours being a facelift model you already have the airbag :D

there is a couple more how too's over on x5outpost aswell.

Dooohhhh! just re looked mate and it's the old type airbag :oops:
I was thinking back to when i changed my trim on the other x :roll: but of course the facelift model has the 'bulkier' airbag.
Sorry chris but you would need to buy an airbag after all.
Well spoted Sanj :thumbsup: .... it's either way to early for me or i had too much vino last night :D

Yeah my standard wheel is the horrible bus like affair , and I want smthg a bit nicer feel .

I've seen some Alcantara re-covered wheel's on another forum site , and was thinking about
trying one out .
