Partition Net Installation

Hi all

I just bought this partition net this morning for my E53 (2003) and could not understand where exactly all the hooks are meant to go.
See link...
http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mod ... fg=60&hl=4

Does anyone have a similar model with this partition net setup in the back?
I've managed to hook the two connections into the ceiling, but its the rest of it that just doesn't seem to gel.

There are 2 hooks on each side in the middle section, and a further 3 hooks dangling at the bottom.
I believe when hooking the 2 mid pieces they grab onto the foldable rings from the back of the rear seats. Each of the hooks is attached to some stretchy cord and appears to hook on ok at the mid level... not sure though...

But its the 3 bottom dangly hooks that I can't find a connection or ring for....
Any help much appreciated! IN the meantime I am going back to the car and see if I can sort this out with caveman like skills :scratchhead: :paper:

I think. That the lower hooks are for when you have the seat folded down you don't attach them when you have the seat up......hope I have remembered that right, but I've had an e70 for three and a half years.

Stumpy hit the nail on the head
upper two for seat back when upright
lower two for when seats folded down, move the hole thing forward/behind the front seats

hmmmmmmmmmm
that was how i originally set it up and thought... wtf!!?

odd that when the seats are upright (99% of the time) you end up with a net where half of it (bottom section with 3 hooks) is just.... welll.... dangling there with nowhere to go?? but it does make sense that if you push the back seats down... then those 3 hooks will be able to catch the 3 rings at the right length.

I just came back after attempting another go and curled up (inwards) the bottom 3 hooks onto the 3 rings and attempted to double hook the top 2 side hooks again into rings 1 and 3... and it kinda works.... uggggh... you start convincing yourself the loose netting formed when curling the 3 hooks upwards was meant to carry your spare umbrella or something!! =) whatever happened to good ol fashion ikea instructions in the box? nowhere to be seen!

I will go back and reset to Plan A. Thanks guys!

That'll be the net i just bought then. :(

I was after the net that hooks to the floor, but it came and had the two weird bits at one side, just like the picture above.

Anyone want a partition net? :headbang:

The bits you hook it into are all round the boot floor though?

my net had a label on it that says this way forward meaning that the net required to be rolled up into itself before you can clip the 2 bottom clips on which are on bunjee type connections all looks nice and tidy when done correctly 2,. also there are 2 mounts further forward in the roof for the net to attach to the back of the chair when they are lowered although the seat backs then dont sit flush onto the cushion and do bounce up a bit. very sea sicky for the poor horse in the back...

That bottom pic is exactly how I've got mine attached.
Keeps the mutt from visiting me in the front but obscures a fair bit of rear view.
