Hi All,
What do you all think about this motor... For the price.

Looks like a 'project car'.....
It does say 'needs TLC'so at least the seller is being honest...
If you have a wedge and the time and ability available to put anything right then it could be worth a punt, otherwise run away.

No way without all the docs... FSH will changes the value, lack of it too. But price is keen at that mileage (if genuine). Without docs, hard to substantiate...
Description says 2004, so it's a VERY late pre-facelift as the facelifts came out same time.
Description also says heated seats, picture shows no buttons???
Also, the drive home may not have told him the stereo works properly in all four corners or the PDC's all work, etc.
Take a look at AW8's Buyers Guide.

Unless you can get it inspected fully, or have a real good look at it then leave well alone, one of the questions is asking for the vin. number to verify certains facts via BMW, he has declined to supply this, saying some thing about scammers, well, make your own mind up, unless you have a large amount of cash that you are willing to throw at it, then don't bother.
On the other hand, it might be genuine, but it's not as if there's a shortage of X5's available.

Yeah that was me asking those questions....
If I was closer to Kent then I'd go an take a look but I'm not...
£5k for a 2004 car seems good especially with those miles and MOTs to back up, lack of SH does worry me - but thinking that if it was still on finance then it will have been serviced (me being naive??)?..

You are not being naive, you are trying to ask the seller some very good questions, but his lack of co-operation should tell you something.
You know what they say about, "if something is too good to be true"

at 5k for a petrol the choice is massive, he seems very lacking to give essensial information, also if its on an irish plate and un traceable, though bmw id be wary mine is tracable though bmw on private plate, i dont know how but one of my mates who work for vauxhall said there is some scam way of exporting cars to ireland registering them and bringing them back that hides all sorts of hidden history!! id just leave well alone, i saw one on ebay, admitingly not as new but petrol fsh, nappa leather fully loaded the other week, owned by a bmw mechanic and if sold for £4200 i nearly bought it!!
