reverse camera dead - fixed!

hi all, i noticed my diy install reverse camera had stopped working last week.
when i selected reverse my monitor changed to a blank screen instead of the rear view.
this, for me, narrowed down the problem to the camera and not the tuner as it was still auto selecting the reverse cam feed.
so i ordered a new camera from ebay last week, about £15 posted from hong kong <¦-) . i thought oh well, if its not the camera its only £15 and i could probably sell it on again.
anyway, the new camera arrived today, its virtually identical the old one so after removing the plastic cover on the rear hatch, it was a simple unplug of the phono type connectors and swap over as the hard work had already been done in routing/connecting the wiring further down in the boot area.
and hey ho! i now have my reverse view again!
i think the old camera might have suffered a bit of water ingress as the wiring didnt look particularly weatherproof although im sure it claimed to be.
anyway i put some silicone sealant around the wiring area to help weatherproof it some more.
i cant tell you how much i had got used to having the cam when reversing. without it i was like a floundering whale trying to get into tight spots! parking sensors or not.
even if i have to replace it again in the future, for the cost of a cheap cam its still my best mod!
