When I ordered my E53 6 years ago it was possible to track the status of the order via BMW in the US. For those who have more recently ordered either an E70 X5 or an E71, or even an X3 (have they started building them in the US yet?), were you able to track you order's status, or has that facility now been denied to us on this side of the pond?
I know in the US, someone has actually gone to the trouble of tracking their order from the factory in Europe all the way to their Dealership - including the boat bit - and no I don't want to know THAT much detail - so the links are there. They have the 'Owners Circle' but I can't find an equivalanet to enable order tracking for Europeans.
Anyone know the link, should such a beast exist of course?

Re: Order Tracking
I looked into that to and found it was not possible for us over here, a bit daft in this day and age that is not opened up as a world wide service.

Re: Order Tracking
Cheers Sir, I thought that might be the case!!
I think that in the US making this sort of data available may well be part of the legal needs of the Freedon of Information Act, whereas here in the UK customer services are something that gets talked about but never actually implemented. BMW probably think as they don't have to provide this kind of service they won't. It's the same when looking for equipment manuals for a lot of gadgets. if you look on the European site there's nothing there. Look on the US site and eveything is there.
Ho hum, just have to pester the Dealer then
Production should be week 44, which I think is in November and then add the 6 weeks it takes to get here, inspection, PDI etc and it's MINE!!
