Hi there,
Used to me a member of the original z4um
Close to taking the plunge and getting an X5.
Does anyone know the mark-up BMW dealers put on their approved 2nd hand cars? I am trying to negotiate at the moment
Best,
K2

So you pay the bill, and donations go elsewhere.......how does that work?
And Welcome -K2-
Based on my sale last year of my 2005 E53 Sport 3.0d with 54k on it, I would hazard approx £2k to begin with. They put it on the forecourt @£16.5k. The final figure will be down to your haggling skills....

Welcome, do let us know what spec etc you are after, most people on here are always keeping an eye out on the classifieds etc. so might be able to let you know when one pops up for sale.
What part of the country are you in.

Continuing to persevere
Found an E70 with a panorama sunroof. Are they as bad as I heard they are and should be avoided at all costs?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi k2
I have had 3 E61's with pan roof with no issues , keeping the mechanism properly clean & greased is part of the service schedule now , likewise I have had 2 e70's with the same trouble free pan roofs, one sold at 4 years 60k , the other at 2 yrs old , all were bought new or with BMW warranty which I'd recommend given the costs. Dirt in the mechanism is the killer especially grit from bird droppings, also flexing can occurr with off road use that might present the potential for a crack!
I' ve now got an e53 as a runaround with the normal roof and it is nowhere near as nice to live with .
Good luck!

Pano roofs are a great option IMO had one on the previous 'X' and also on the Touring, both with no issues but care taken with the cleaning and regular use. £2k sounds a little short on an e70 closer to £3k would be more like it. Have been watching a 'Z' which ha come down over £1.5k so far on the AUC site.
Where are you in the country. Dealer location has big affect on margin as well as haggling. Do not be affaid of travelling to buy a car. Dealers are very happy to deal over the phone and well worth a go. You could always ask for help on here with dealer info
