Chrome or black grill

Post by Flog » Mon Apr 09, 2012 12:26 am

Had the X for a week now and just wondering if I should change the grill over. I have chrome on black and just wondering if black on black would look better? Any comments or pictures of before and after greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ps, has anyone wire or rather got a snazzy way of getting the iPod wire out the arm rest to the centre console without ramming the lid down? Again, comments appreciated.

Have a look on the web for pictures of the 'BMW Performance' kidney grills. They are all black.

Or have a look at... X5 Performance Parts

They definitely don't look right on my X6, but that has titanium/chrome on a red body. It depends on the overall combo.

Personally I can't make my mind up on them

Not sure it cheapens the car
Currently :

2012 Porsche Boxster S (981)
2008 Lotus Exige S (a bit modified!)
2015 Nissan Leaf twin turbo with Nitros

Previously :
2008 BMW X5 3.0sd MSport
2005 BMW 535d MSport

Been looking at the fronts of every Beemer I see and seen a few black grills and have to say I like... Perhaps I'm cheap!
Will order this week. Does anyone have a spare set?

Black all the way. Or even colour coded surround with black slats.

Obviously the top one was when the car was clean and the bottom one early this morning and shows that I have a job to do!

Open bonnet, then squeezing the few small clips to remove the old one and the new ones click into place by pushing (spring clips).
