Newbie says Hello

Hi everyone I bought my X two years ago and thought it was time to say hello. I've owned 4 BMW's over the years and thought I would try the X5. Couldn't afford a new one or even close to new so looked long and hard for a clean well maintained pre-facelift example. The car I ended up buying was owned by a local car dealership and was well maintained having had a replacement gearbox and Turbo fitted the year before I bought the car. I have over the last two years replaced the Turbo filter and air filter along with Engine oil new alternator, new Bosch battery, 4 rear bushings front discs and pads. I upgraded the wheels 19" and fitted 4 new tyres so I think I'm finally at the stage were I can sit back and enjoy the drive! Thanks to everyone who has posted and for the wealth of information this site provides.

Welcome into the fold. Sounds like you've been busy replacing stuff, but at least the two 'expensive' ones are done..

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.The car is clean and original with no accident damage and I managed to buy a Mk4 DVD Nav Drive for £90 off Gumtree, he even threw in a 2010 disc, I always check the honesty of the seller having been the victim of 2 car break ins anyway the chap claimed he removed them from his old 7 series prior to trading it in and appeared totally genuine. I plugged it in there and then and it worked right away and drove home with my nav working, result! I bought the roof bars and roof box for £70 off Gumtree has to be cheap at that? I love Gumtree for a bargain but I'm always wary of buying stolen goods.
